The Executive's Club of Chicago Presents: A New World: Geopolitics and Global Business

  • Hyatt Regency Chicago (map)

THESE ARE CHALLENGING TIMES. Corporations must navigate shifting trade barriers, understand geopolitical issues, and take proactive steps to reduce their risk in an uncertain world.  Former U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, chair of global strategic advisory firm Albright Stonebridge Group, will offer his views on how companies can develop and use a corporate foreign policy to capture opportunities and mitigate risk in markets around the world.

His unique perspective comes from decades of experience, both in the public and private sectors. Secretary Gutierrez played a key role in the passage of landmark free-trade agreements under President George W. Bush. He was the youngest chief executive in the history of Battle Creek, MI-based Kellogg Company, where he spent nearly 30 years working his way to the top job.

Secretary Gutierrez was born in Havana, Cuba, and is chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Cuba Business Council. He also will discuss the future of U.S.-Cuban relations under the Trump administration.
